Fishing is off the hook at Conroe with all the nice weather lately. With the good weather brings the recreational boaters. Stay north of the 1097 bridge for your best shot. Fish the banks of the main finger north-west of the 1097 bridge. Once you catch a fish stay in that area and fish 50 yards in either direction. Best luck has been using shallow crank baits in shad color casting at the shore. Use a very slow retrieve. Make sure to set the hook when you feel the line pull back.

As the water warms up don't be afraid to throw the medium crank bait (5-10 ft) away from the shore. The fish are in spawn but you can find some big ones still staging or moving back out to the main lake.
