| October 27, 2007 Fish-Skin team anglers and photography staff will be at Pine Flat hosting our 1st "Fishing with Friends" extravaganza. We will be taking approximatly 8-10 developmentally disabled teens and adults fishing for the day on various lakes throughout california. This is our 1st event and we are very excited to start this wonderful opportunity. Below tells a little more about this events importance and meaning... Fishing With Friends is an idea my partner and I have had for awhile and it wasn’t until last year that we realized how important it is for everyone in society to experience the beauty of nature and everything the outdoors has to offer. After taking Coby Short, a client of Kern Regional Center, fishing to a few different lakes, I realized how valuable new experiences are to people with developmental disabilities. Coby now loves to go fishing and has actually mastered the art of catch & release! I am now asked daily by other clients, ones at the All Star Café, when will we take them fishing? It isn’t just the fishing that is exciting but the experience as a whole and the environment in which we get to do it. This is a real opportunity for anyone who has ever wanted to learn how to fish and experience the outdoors to do it. We don’t guarantee a lunker but we can guarantee a great time. If you are not to keen on fishing but still would like to enjoy the outdoors that can be accommodated as well. Again, we will be fishing at Pine Flat on Oct. 27, 2007 from 8AM-4PM. Other boaters escorting our favorite friends include Kirk Sakamoto, Rodney Reed, The Oddball Angler, and the rest of the Fish-Skin staff and photographers. If you are interested in helping or sponsoring this event please call or email us at info@fish-skin.com Thanks, Fish-Skin Management | |
